I’m writing this letter to Community and Business Leaders, all media to raise awareness about the plight of hunger in our own community as well as the communities in and around Lenasia

As adults, we know that giving back matters. As parents, we realize that we have a responsibility to teach our kids the same. Why? Because community service not only improves the world we live in, it helps us become better people.

Giving back teaches us how and where we fit in society, and how we can help solve collective problems. From a young age, it helps us learn how to become engaged citizens by teaching us personal responsibility through character education, by providing opportunities and by promoting innovative thinking through exposure to both the causes and effects of issues like poverty, racism and economic development.

• We believe in engaging the community and involving those we serve in finding solutions to eliminate hunger and food insecurity.
• We believe the root causes of hunger must be addressed to realize our long-term goal of eliminating hunger.
• We believe collaboration and partnerships - internally and externally - is essential to fulfilling our mission.
• We recognise the dignity of ALL PEOPLE and believe food is an essential right.
• We believe that hunger can be eliminated.
